Alton J. Cheaves, Jr, COO

Mr. Alton Cheaves Jr. brings to Celebrity’s Soul Food Management, LLC, 30+ years of combined federal civilian service, 20+ as a Senior Leader and prior military service with the Department of Defense. Most recently as the Director, Architecture Configuration Engineering and Solutions. 

In his role as Director, ACES he spearheaded the Center for IT Architecture Configuration Management Engineering and Solutions development for the DOD Community with direct responsibility for the execution of over $150M in annual procurement, RDT&E and O&M funding in support of the warfighter mission in the defense of our great nation. Provided technical leadership, advice on engineering efforts involving modernization of the Pentagon area networks, IT business processes and IT service delivery across multiple platforms and enclaves; to include large scale Enterprise-wide projects. 

During his D0D tenure, Mr. Cheaves has served in a myriad of other Senior Leadership positions in the DoD community positions, displaying his diverse management, leadership and technical skills, most notably leading the redesign of the personnel hiring process for Office of the Secretary of Defense and Washington Headquarters Services community, reducing the time-to-hire from an average of 180 days to less than 80 days; Director, Integrated Services Division, Facilities Management, where he led the creation of the first ever Transportation Management Office and redesign of parking facilities for the Pentagon Reservation; and OSD and WHS Telecommunications Director, where he led the consolidation of telecommunication services for the Director of Administration & Management Components, while implementing telecom expense management which saved over $1.3M in its first year of inception. 

He has earned a Masters' degree from American University in Public Administration and an Associate’s Degree from Prince George's Community College in Business Management. He has a Master's Certificate in Information Technology Project Management from The George Washington University - School of Business and Public Management; Graduate of the Senior Executive Service Candidate Development Program, Department of Commerce and is a Graduate of The Federal Executive Institute - Leadership for a Democratic Society (LDS). Additional certifications include: Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Leadership Coaching for Organizational Performance from George Mason University; Executive Leadership Certificate from Cornell University and Assessment Certifications (Issue, Interpret Five 360 Degree Assessment) from the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL).
